It’s Amazing What You Can Accomplish When You’re Connected
Yes, it is definitely COOL to connect with friends and be a social butterfly on the social network sites. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social networks are cost effective (free) sites… which makes connecting with your friends that much more fun.
Think about this… what if you could build your list, get more customers and even find some joint venture partners on the same sites you visit with your friends and followers? Well, you can.
Be warned though, social networks still need to be social. That means you do not go on these sites and continually push your sites, blogs, products or services. You need to build rapport with the people who connect with you on these sites… build some solid relationships.
Offer up some free advice or information on your topic of expertise… help other people first and become the expert in their eyes. Once you've done that, people will be a lot more receptive to you offering up what you are selling. Still… even once you've got the relationships built, the majority of your tweets, posts, etc. need to be social or about helping others.
In regards to finding joint venture partners… pay attention to what others are saying about themselves. What do they do? What are their areas of expertise? If someone is an expert at something you struggle with, get to know them and find out what you can do for them. After all, it does need to be a win-win scenario or they will not be interested in the joint venture.
Of course, for all of this to work even better… having all of your most critical and mutually beneficial relationships organized and managed is oh, so important.
Use social network sites for business as well as being social and give your business a huge boost in reach and profitability.

Dear Pat and Lorna, it was wonderful to meet you at Alex Mandossian’s TSS Reunion this weekend! And that event exemplified the principles you are promoting that touch on connections and relationships. Of course, spending a day and a half in each other’s company is a super way to connect, and to test “resonance.” But as you teach, it is possible to build genuine, authentic relationships online, too–if that is your goal.
It is mine, and I feel honored to have connected with you!
Love and blessings,
Joel Orr

Thanks for the tip Pat! How right you are in suggesting people stay as
social as possible, afterall that is why these sites are called social.
We don’t want to miss opportunities to connect with both prospects and
partners. Any time I see the word “connected” I am drawn as my verb is
“I connect” therefore I am as our friend and mentor Alex Mandossian teaches.
