We uncovered and dusted off our Nissan 300ZX that we hadn’t driven in quite some time; it was like reconnecting with an old friend. Then we thought to ourselves… why hadn’t we done this earlier?
Just like in life…
There are relationships that we have, or had in the past, that we have not recently spent time or energy on; relationships that were once strong that have become disconnected. The good intentions are there… the “I should call them” thoughts. But then… nothing.
We know that we miss the connection and friendship we once shared in that relationship, but it just seems like it’s almost too much effort… or life gets in the way and we don’t reconnect.
There are some relationships that stick out in our minds as ones we really, really want to bring back, and some others that may not be so “urgent” to us. In the end though, each of these relationships brings out something special in us… they are all a part of who we are.
Even in the world of social media, there are relationships we build and connections we make, that after a while we might let slip away.
We can change that.
There isn’t a time limit on reconnecting. Now is a good time to do it. Take a look at the relationships in your life… personal, business, online and offline… that have become disconnected, and be the one to begin the process of renewing that bond.
Start with the ones that are first and foremost in your mind. Those are the ones that are obviously the most important to you. Then come the others that definitely were important to you, but might not be so easy to recall.
It might not seem like we cared much… but life does have a way of putting so much in our minds that we honestly don’t have instant recall of all the relationships that were once important in our lives. So how do we remember them all?
We help out our over-taxed brain by organizing our relationships so that we can easily reconnect to them… and what’s a great way to do that?
We recommend you use the digital version of “The Brain”… a great tool to help you organize and manage your relationships as well as the information you’ve collected over time.
Remember, don’t wait for others to get the ball rolling… take the first step in renewing and reconnecting your past relationships… and there’s never been a better time than now.
