What a great post. BTW- peace be with you both, in light of recent events. I know that your kid driving can be un-nerving.
I like what you said about now is a good time to reconnect. Just reconnected with a buddy from highschool and it has been amazing on many levels-including business. You guys are cool! VIVA los Daily Crushers!

I can SO relate to so much of this post. When my daughter turned 16 last November and starting driving her mom’s old, beatup Bronco, she became radically independent and it feels like I’m lucky to have dinner with her once/week these days.

And, while it’s true that we have only so much time in the day, we do ignore some of our most important relationships, and let the passion leak out of them. As you suggest, NOW is the best time to reinvent the relationship and reignite it. That is absolutely what I remind the couples that have lost that spark when I counsel them each week.

Thanks so much for a great post!

      Adam,

We’re sure you’ll also agree that those 16 years went by really, really fast! It sure has for us.

So glad you mentioned passion… whether it be in relationship with other people or with our life’s work, we need to keep the passion alive. Great advice, and a great reminder.

      Thank you so much!

I know! How could sixteen years have passed? She was so tiny and so cute and now she’s just about like a grownup with such adult-like things to say. Thanks God for pictures. Before we know it: grandchildren!

    Take care,
    Adam
