The Power of the ?
Learning is a life-long adventure… don't you agree? Honestly, if we stop learning we stop living.
Conventionally speaking, we are taught by someone telling us what to do and how to do it. Yet, is that the best way to learn?
Having someone tell us what to do brings about different reactions from different people. Most can't focus long enough to get the whole point of what they're being taught, some “rebel” against the idea of being told what to do, and overall it just doesn't become a part of us as something we've really learned.
The best way to solicit a true learning experience is to ask questions. If someone is asked questions when they are learning, it causes them to go inside to find the answer. Really understanding from their core what it is they want to learn.
Picture it this way… when we are told what to do, some of what is being taught gets through and some of it “bounces off” us and is lost. When we are asked questions and dig deep for the answer, it is within us… ingrained in who we are. It makes us think, ponder, and become connected with the answer.
So not only do we seek out questions as a way to learn, we need to understand that this is the best way for us to teach. Our “students” will get way more from what we are teaching them, use more of it in their lives and look to us as someone who they'd like to learn more from.
Learning is a key part of life… and the key to learning is through the power of the question. Do you agree?

“if we stop learning we stop living.” Got that right, what else could explain an old 74 year man attempting to keep pace with you youngins. What’s that Jim Rohn quote” ” When the time comes for me to go, let it find me climbing a new Mountain and not sliding down an old one.” Keep cool guys, your the best.

Nelson,
Must admit, you keep up really well. Must be from all the experience you have climbing the mountains. Thanks for the quote, and for stopping by!

Denise,
Questions are great… and like you’ve said, asking questions just not of others, but of ourselves is equally important. We can have great questions for ourselves too.
Thanks,

Hi Pat and Lorna,
I absolutely agree. Questions help to clarify what you are learning. When you ask with curiosity it’s even better because you are asking yourself more questions leading to more answers. Nothing stands still or remains the same…

I completely agree with how you wrap up the essence of your post in your opening statement. I certainly do feel alive and growing when I ask questions and search out the answers. The answers then usually lead me to more questions.which is a good thing. Dead people, I suppose, have no need to learn anything. So I consider myself alive and well because I’m always hungry and searching for knowledge and understanding. Sometimes I feel like the oddball among some of the people I know, but you and for example, Nelson, more than make up for strange looks and comments I might get from the living dead.

Monika,
Yes, questions do lead to more questions… and if we keep asking ourselves questions the more answers we discover. Learning is an integral part of life and if we’re not learning we’re dying.
Thanks,
