Where Are Your Customers? Find Out… Be There… Your Sales Depend On It
Customers have changed… they no longer contact vendors for information, get involved in their sales process, or buy into their “references”.
Today, the customer can and does find all the information they need on the web. It's all there… and more. It's not just information… they can also find and connect with others who have had experience with the products and services they are looking at purchasing.
That says it all right there…
People are connecting with other people when it comes to their purchases. Seeing an ad, or talking to a sales person just doesn't cut it anymore.
If you are looking to connect with your prospective customers, then you must go to where they are. You need to visit them in their social networks and communities. Find out where they are and be there.
They're asking questions…
But they are not directing those questions to the companies selling the products and services. They are asking their questions within their social networks and communities… the people they know, like and trust. Immerse yourself and/or your business in the social web, and answer your prospects' questions… without blatantly “selling” them.
It's all about relationships.
The strength of your relationships with your prospects and customers are a KEY factor in your business success. You're engaging your customers. You're not talking “to” them, you're talking “with” them.
Of course, for all of this to work even better… having these relationships and social network connections organized and managed is oh, so important. It's important to know who your prospects and customers are, where they “hang out” and how to get there.
Using social network sites for business sales and growth is not just important, it's essential. Your prospects and customers are there, and to develop and build relationships with them you need to be there too.

Paul,
It is so cool to come up with creative ways to connect with people… it’s more fun and memorable for them.
And you’re right, when we get to connect with people from different countries and cultures it raises the wow factor.

Great to meet you guys. Glad to have you as part of the TSA.
I totally agree with you. With all of the access to information and sharing on social networks it is no longer the job of the sales person to impart this stuff. I think of it as back to the fundamentals of how we are created and made for relationship with each other.
Thanks again for this.
Make it a great day!
God Bless,

Hey cool guys, great post. You are so right. The dynamics of selling have changed significantly with the arrival of social media. The know-like-trust factor plays a huge role in how successful you are these days.

Hey Karin,
It’s almost like an equation:
Know + Like + Trust = Success
And it is amazing the impact social media has made on our marketing strategies. We feel like it’s made it a lot more fun because we actually get to connect with a lot of very cool people.
Thanks so much!

Great post you two, you got a rockin blog here. Very excited to have found you through TSA and connect with you here as well.
Knowing your target market is one of the most fundamental things that people miss out on. Newbies think that they can just come online, pop some offers in Facebook or Twitter and start making sales. While some will get lucky and make a few, ultimately you will not get anyone if you don’t take the time to educate yourself on the proper marketing skills and techniques.
